After you have logged in, the system will bring you to this page – from here you can then navigate around the site.
Firstly clicking on the flags will take you to the relevant country post from where you can look for cities (like Paris) and areas (like Tuscany).
In the sidebars, you can see the categories and tags – I’ve used them to organise the products in different ways….
Most categories work on a geographic basis – Continents and Countries. If you select a (sub-) category, it will list all the posts in that (sub-) category. There are also categories for articles – including gadgets (mostly travel electronics) and articles of interest (travel stories, cautionary tales, what to do ifs…., tips, etc)
You can also use tags to find posts – we’ve tried to tag things so that you can find them easily. Select a tag and it will retrieve all the posts with that tag attached.
Pages are listed in the middle of the bottom of posts /pages and some of them are on tabs – we’re working on a glitch with the header so that we can put them up there too.
Add to Cart Buttons
This site’s technology allows me to hide content from different membership levels to some extent, but Annual members will see two “Add to Cart” buttons”. Click the one with the lower price on it – we have to leave the Freemium member’s buttons visible to non-members other wise they can’t buy ! I’m trying to get the publisher to allow me to give discounts to different types of member, but the software doesn’t do that yet.
Coupons
We use coupons to attract new subscribers and reward the loyalty of our subscribers by giving them a discount on a product – if a coupon is current then a window will appear in the shopping cart as you buy the product – enter the code as you order and you’ll receive the discount. Leave it blank and you won’t ! (Two other strategies might work here – search on Google for the coupon or ask us nicely).
Contacting Us
We use the contact form to beat the spam bots. If we put a real email address up then we’d be overwhelmed with spam. We do like to know what you think about the site and any other feedback you might have. We’re especially interested if you have particular travel plans and would like us to cover a city, a region or country, so do get in touch anytime.
Newsletters
Newsletters will be sent to members by email. Normally, it’ll include
- a meaty article on a travel related theme
- news of new tracks
- any special offers
- a book /gadget review
- news of events coming coming up for which you might wish to start planning – (like Wimbledon, Edinburgh Festival, etc)
How you can help us….
Only if you want to !
Two things help us to get traffic – links and comments. You can put comments on any of the posts in the normal blog way, once you’re signed in. It may take a little while to appear because we like to moderate them, but Google then thinks someone has read the page. Links are even more helpful – Google treat these as a recommend. Most posts /pages have a Share and Enjoy bookmarking thingie at the bottom. This means you can give me a link by clicking on them !
Upgrades and Updates
From time to time we will upgrade country / city/area bundles by adding new tracks to them. If you have already downloaded these bundles and your subscription is still up to date, then you are entitled to have copies of these upgrades. Similarly, if we bring travel guides up to date you are also entitled to have these updates. Unfortunately if your subscription does lapse, then you lose that entitlement.
Lifetime Members’ Download Page
Lifetime members can download any or all of our products at any time from the download page, which you can reach from any of the product pages if you’re a Lifetime Member. Just press the button next to the product name and you’ll be able to pick it up from a private link.
